Levels of Up.

So with my last post I made things simple, just a few pictures and a video tutorial. But today I want to showcase two different textures of hair and ways it can be put into an above-the-neck hairstyle. I chose the hair types of  "Kinky" and "Curly"  as the different textures for today. So lets get started!!

Kinky Hair

African-American women are leaning more towards the "natural" hair wear now a days, which means wearing and styling their hair with no or minimal heat manipulation. Allowing their hair to grow, without using relaxers, in its natural state. Most styles that can be worn are usually braided, twisted, puffed and let free into an Afro style.

The first photo shows a woman who has taken sections of her hair and wrapped it around/folded it over another piece of hair to get the final look. The second picture shows a woman with an all around braided mo hawk. The third one focuses on the back of this hairstyle, showing how they pinwheeled the end of her flat twists into her head (Giving off the look of small flowers). The last picture the hair was gathered to make one big flat twist

Here is a video of a cute hairstyle which is quick and easy if you have the right amount of hair.

Curly Hair

Curly haired woman have tons of different curl patterns on their head. Some have loose bouncy curls, while others have curls with some wave pattern to it. Curly haired beauties have to make sure that whatever style they choose to wear that their curls stay looking fresh and fly, not all dry.

The first picture shows how the woman styled her hair into a high front bun like style with a unique twist. The second image shows a woman with a short haircut, but the top of her hair has a flipped/tossed effect. The third image shows a woman who put her hair in a high ponytail towards the front, and then put a head scarf around the base of the head and tied a knot. The last photo the lady just has a simple high half ponytail, having the "tail" part hang over her forehead as bangs.

Here is a fast hair tutorial which the woman makes a very cute style!

With the sides of her hair brushed back, this lady had to have used a lot of bobby pins to keep this style up!

To begin this extravagant hairdo, it seems that the stylist had to brush her hair into a high ponytail then use the rest of the hair and loosely braid it into each other. Hands down, this is A LOT of hair.

Flat twist all around with this hairstyle! The lady pictured had to do a whole lot of two strand twisting to get this hair style perfected.
